By taking on this role, you will be a key contributor to the ongoing success of the Client Solutions Centre (CSC). The CSC represents one of the fastest growing and most profitable areas in the Canadian operation.
The successful candidate will organize, plan, design and execute training sessions for employees across the Client Solutions Centre. The Training Specialist assists with the development and management of the business unit’s learning initiatives. This position is critical to our organization as it promotes the development of our most important asset… our talent! We are seeking a passionate and engaging individual who has experience with a variety of training styles and is driven to help organizations and employees succeed.

What will you do ?
Manage the design, delivery, assessment, and improvement of new hire training programs as well as ongoing learning opportunities across the CSC
Research and prepare educational material such as presentations, digital modules, on-demand training videos, etc.
Utilize a variety of training methodologies, techniques, concepts, and authoring tools to ensure maximum effectiveness of the training program
Create engaging instructional content and deliver effective training opportunities that adequately accommodate both on-site and remote attendees, across various geographic regions
Provide continuous improvement of learning opportunities, define criteria and assessments to evaluate learner performance, and ensure the maximum effectiveness of the company's efforts towards inclusive learning
Apply accelerated and blended learning techniques in training
Identify individual learning styles and adjust facilitation accordingly
Provide detailed feedback on new hire/learner progression
Establish strong working relationships with business partners to assess training needs and ensure training programs are kept current
Participate in business unit initiatives or projects to support business objectives
Be an ambassador for Sun Life’s Client for Life principles by modeling the way in all your interactions
What you need to succeed?
5+ years of experience in development and delivery of training programs using expertise in instructional design, program design & development, adult learning theories and training technologies
3+ years of experience using eLearning authoring tools (ex: Articulate) and creating digital learning content
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, deliverables, and competing priorities
Demonstrated time management and organization skills
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide
Top notch facilitation skills, with the ability to influence, persuade and motivate
Comprehensive knowledge of wealth management products, financial markets, retirement options, and insurance
Ability to work independently within scheduled deadlines
Ability to quickly assess the strengths and needs of learners and adjust the training to accommodate the learners’ needs
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred skills
Previous sales training experience within the financial services industry
Knowledge of group retirement products (GRS) and group insurance products (GB)
Post-secondary degree in Learning and Development, Instructional Design, Adult Education, eLearning Development or another related field
Corporate training certification or designation

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
