Position Description:
BMC Is looking for a Senior Manager of Innovation to join our Innovation Labs team. The individual will be responsible both helping to manage and mentor a small team of 5-6 engineers (of varying seniority levels) as well as for developing solutions that focus on innovation and will ultimately help to solve some of our customers biggest problem’s that they’re facing. This is a hybrid role where you will balance both hands on and hands off responsibilities

What the role will be doing
- Manage and train a small team of 5-6 people – people are key, so we need those who are strongly aligned to helping others achieve their potential.
- Designing, implementing and maintaining enterprise business software for cloud platform.
- Working closely with product managers and the wider Innovation Labs team to understand requirements, present options and design solutions.
- Work with a distributed development team to perform requirements analysis, write design documents, design, develop and test software development projects.
- Analyze and present clearly the status of projects or issues along with risks and options to the stakeholders.
The experience we look for
- Significant experience in software development, preferably enterprise software.
- Significant experience with web services and REST API technologies.
- Senior level knowledge in in either Java / Golang / C / C++ and Python
- Experience in developing microservice architecture and containers
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with Jira, Jenkins and GitHub
- Preferred Experience with DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines
- Demonstrable experience of managing small development teams.
- Demonstrable Cloud knowledge (AWS / Azure / GCP)
Nice to have experience
- Experience with design, development, and implementation of large language models such as GPT, BERT, or similar architectures
- Demonstrable knowledge of TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks
- Preferred experience in message bus technologies such as Kafka, MQTT, ZeroMQ
- Understanding of Kafka message queue and integration technologies
- Working knowledge of containers orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Kubernetes package managers like Helm.
