Summary of Responsibilities
Asurion Mobile Applications (AMA) is seeking a
Desktop Support Technician
to join our team of world-class developers in our San Mateo, CA location. The primary role of this position is to serve as the hands on IT resource for our Mobile Applications site while providing professional, timely, and effective customer service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as hands on IT resource for AMA site
- Provide timely and accurate support to end users
- Provide excellent customer service
- Identify pain points or persistent issues and escalate as required
- Educate users a! bout the tools and benefits of the IT Team
- Adhere to ! ServiceDesk and Company defined policies and procedures
- Perform field support functions associated with internal and external customer based needs
- Work with CA Service Desk application to manage ticket queues
- Under direction, use the following tools to support desktop, laptop, and software management
- Asset Management
- Software Delivery
- Remote Control
- Active Directory
- Provide assistance/data to Network Operations Center (NOC) during critical incidents
- Update operational procedural documentation as needed to reflect new or modified procedures
- Work with 3
party vendors to manage mass moves or infrastructure projects
- Assist in administration of local hardware inventory (tracking, organization, etc.)
- Under direction, work as an extended resource to other IT Support teams to setup,
- Assist in setup of users and passwords for voice mail! troubleshoot, install/upgrade, decommission, and configure equipment:
- Servers
- Telephony
- Network
- Other ServiceDesk functions as required
- Other duties as required
Education/Experience:
Required:
An Associates Degree or higher in an IT related field.
2+ years of Help Desk experience doing Desk Side support
2+ years of experience troubleshooting IT infrastructure, including network, PC, software and cabling.
Preferred
CA ServiceDesk Application experience
Unix/Linux Experience
Licenses or Certifications

One of the following Certifications preferred:
- A+
- Network +
- Microsoft MCDST
- Microsoft MCP*
- Microsoft MCSE*
- Microsoft MOS
- Cisco CCNA
