More complete informations about this position opportunity kindly read the description below. tw - core, c- (SENIOR) ELECTRIC MOTOR DESIGN ENGINEER Aerospace - Space applicationsTHE POSITION: This is a newly created growth position with project level responsi! bility. You will design and develop rugged, high reliability electric motors and electromagnetic equipment for use on Spacecraft, Aerospace and Military Avionics with applications that include servo mechanisms, open-loop and closed-loop electro-mechanical systems. You will create conceptual designs, perform electrical/magnetic/performance analysis, develop detailed designs, oversee fabrication and test of development equipment and participate in reviews with customers and suppliers. As such you must have experience with electric motor and electromagnetic design/analysis software and possess a strong understanding of a broad range of electronics, including at the system level.
An understanding of electronics integrated into electro-mechanical systems is required. Further details include: Design custom brushless DC and/or stepper motors based on system/customer requirements Determine motor size/configuration/parameters from system/customer requirements Ability to mod! el/design Electric Motors/Electromagnetic Circuits & Systems. ! Proficient at analog and digital controller design with appropriate analysis, CAD modeling and simulation. Good understanding of microcontroller operation, microcontroller peripherals and systems including PWM outputs and A/D converters.
Working Knowledge of: Resolvers & Resolver Interfacing (R/D Converters, etc.) Optical Encoders & Encoder Interfacing Hall device commutation DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering, electrical, or related field. Masters preferred. 7+ years minimum Electric Motor/Electromagnetic Design experience and minimum of 2-4 years of experience in control system development for Power Electronics applications. Space flight design experience preferred Desirable experience with: Analysis, design and development of analog and digital circuit design.
Embedded systems, microcontrollers and discreet logic. Actuator gear reduction components (gear, spur gears, planetary gears, ball screws, etc). C, C++, SPICE! , Excel spreadsheet and MATLAB. Auto-code generation from simulation and modeling tools Closed loop control systems Military avionics or electronics design requirements (MIL-STDs).
