Job Advert Summary

Provide Employee Relations and Labour Legislation advisory services as well as a compliance framework to the HR department and Management through implementing and maintaining policies and procedures aligned with the company's strategy and employee needs.
Develop effective people practices with the focus on establishing and maintaining trust between the company and its employees. Serve as a representative for the company's legislative compliance.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 is essential with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/ Labour Relations or LLB Degree.

Honours Degree in Human Resources/ Labour Relations or LLB Degree will be advantageous.

Minimum five (5) years' experience in a similar role, of which at least two (2) years in a management/leadership
capacity.

Understand and apply knowledge of respective labour legislation: BCEA, LRA, SD 13, EEA, SDA, COIDA, OHSA, POPIA.

Ability to understand and implement HR policies, procedures and processes.

Ability to work with a diverse workforce and to lead with integrity and honesty.

Demonstrate excellent communications skills in Afrikaans and English (written and oral) as well as interpersonal skills
with the ability to persuade and influence.

Task driven and deadline orientated with excellent planning, organising and time management skills as well as the
ability to work on own initiative and initiate actions.

Ability to apply good analytical skills and sound judgement to make informed decisions and suggest improvements
and solutions with a proactive mind set.

Excellent literacy and numerical skills with accurate working ability and close attention to detail.

Ability to form professional, positive and collaborative working relationships with personnel at all levels and to act in
the best interest of the company.

Ability to confront conflict and dealing with difficult and stressful situations in the workplace.

Ability to interact with trade unions and other governing bodies.

Characteristics that include ethical principles and values with a high degree of integrity and confidentiality.

Computer literate with a high proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Duties and Responsibilities

Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures related to compliance with labour legislation and management
of employee relations.

Ensure the relevant submissions and provisions governed by labour legislation are adhered to.

Analyse and identify development areas with regards to compliance and people practices, formulate strategies and
lead projects focused on developing these areas.

Serve as a representative of the company at the CCMA, with inspectors from the relevant departments and with
union matters in conjunction with the IR/ HR consultant.

Provide advice and training to internal stakeholders with regards to employee relations matters in conjunction with
the IR/ HR consultant.

Manage and facilitate employee performance including KPI’s, probation and annual reviews; Employee conduct;
Grievances and Employment Conditions.

Manage and oversee the development of positive employee morale and build positive relationships with various
stakeholders.

Manage the Training & Development of new and current employees to address skills gaps, promote professional and
personal development as well as creating awareness of the company's policies and procedures.

Execute the Human Resources Management function for the employees reporting to this position such as

Performance Management, Motivation, Training & Development etc.

Compile relevant monthly and ad hoc reports.
