About Dipsea:
Dipsea is a San Francisco-based, female-founded startup building a Headspace-like app for audio stories designed to turn women on.
Dipsea was founded on the belief that a woman’s desire and pleasure are more a question of brain than body, and of inspiration than know-how. Newly emerging players are focused on building better product hardware and accessories and creating more positive, practical education—which is awesome. But no one is innovating around the most important aspects of female arousal: mental state, imagination, and fantasy. Until Dipsea. We’re designing content specifically for the female brain.
Ultimately, we believe “turning women on†is bigger than arousal: it means inspiring her to feel more in touch with herself, more relaxed, confident, even more connected to partners. It means empowering her to tap into and use her sexual powers more readily and accessibly.
What you'll do:
Dipsea’s Content Editor will manage the pipeline of written content that serves as the foundation for our audio stories. The ideal candidate will be equal parts strong writer, constructive editor, and en gaging community manager. You’ll work closely with Dipsea’s co-founders on the road to launch and beyond, making important creative calls when developing content strategy, editing writers’ work, and maintaining and evolving Dipsea’s writers’ guidelines. We’re looking for a self-starter who can make decisions independently, but also a natural collaborator excited to work with a small, passionate team.
At Dipsea you’d be responsible for:
- Acting as Dipsea’s quality gatekeeper, i.e. ensuring stories are well-written, thoughtfully crafted for audio, and on-brand
- Guiding content development from the initial pitch, through edits and revisions, to the final script
- Finding, onboarding, managing, and coaching a network of freelance writers to our editorial standards
- Maintaining and communicating Dipsea’s writers’ guidelines
- Assisting in the development of Dipsea’s content strategy
- Brainstorming creative sol utions, efficiencies, and ways to make Dipsea a better experience for our listeners!
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a writer, content editor, content manager, or other relevant role
- Ideally, experience sourcing, onboarding, and developing a network of freelance writers
- Empathy for our listeners in order to create relevant, inspiring content
- Good communicator excited to build productive, long-term relationships with writers
- Positive, organized, hard-working, comfortable in a startup environment
- Creative thinker who can help shape our content strategy
- Process- and detail-oriented with a high bar for quality
- Very comfortable talking about all aspects of sex, women’s health, and related topics
- No prior experience with erotica or romantic content required. We’re blazing a new trail and are happy to have fresh brains tackling the challenge!
Benefits:
- The opportunity to have a huge, early impact on a pre-launch company
- Casual, inclusive, supportive work environment with high standards and a passionate team
- Non-hierarchical structure where all thoughtful opinions and ideas are valued
- Competitive compensation
