- Current 40-hour and 8-hour HAZWOPER Certification

The Geosciences/Remediation Division in the Santa Ana office is looking for a health and safety professional to perform technical work in a variety of health, safety and environmental disciplines to achieve compliance with health and safety standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements. Candidate will be responsible for implementing and overseeing a safet! y program implemented by a variety of project teams for a variety of clients.
- Assist staff with the preparation of site specific Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Familiar with and implement a behavior based safety system (such as the Loss Prevention System [JSA]).
- Lead field safety audits and report findings to corporate database maintained by URS.
- Participate in incident investigations and lead root cause analysis (RCA).
- Lead by example and promote a strong safety culture that can be relied on by staff, management, and clients.
- Develop lessons learned (LL’s) and distribute best practices (BP’s).
- Working knowledge of a variety of chemicals including petroleum, chlorinated, metals, etc.
- Previous work experience in the Oil & Gas Industry (i.e., Refinery, Terminal, Retail Gas Station, etc.).
- Familiar with client specific safety programs such as Dow, Shell, and Chevron.
