The Clinic Services Bureau of the Monterey Count! y Health Department is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP III) to fill the critical and essential needs for psychiatric services for the clinics' patients. This position is part of a multidisciplinary team which includes psychiatrists, a social worker and primary care physicians. The incumbent in this position will assess, evaluate, diagnose and develop treatment plan for patients with mental illness. The Clinic Services Bureau operates seven health care clinics: Alisal Health Center, Seaside Family Health Center, Marina Health Clinic and four outpatient clinics located in Salinas. Medical services provided at these clinics include prenatal care, family practice, pediatrics, women's health services, internal medicine and adult/child psychiatric services. The clinics offer care primary care and specialty services to the medically underserved residents of Monterey County.

Assessing and providing Mental Health services for children and adults.
Identify and manage, in collaboration with psychiatrist, mental health conditions/disorders and refer.
Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals regarding mental health problems and disorders, following established protocol relative to diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Maintain accurate records of assessments, follow-ups and evaluations utilizing electric medical record.
Counsels patients and families regarding mental health maintenance.
Coordinates and facilitates referrals. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Valid and active California Registered Nurse License and possession and maintenance of a Nurse Practitioner certificate in the appropriate specialized area(s): Family Psychiatric and Mental Health NP.
Valid DEA numb! er and certificate.
Qualifications may be acquired by successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner training program leading to certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the CA Board of Nursing in Family Psychiatric and Mental Health, and demonstrated ability to provide the full scope of patient care in this area.
