Project
Parsons is providing Program Management and Construction Management (PM/CM) staffing services in support of The Los Angeles World Airport’s current capital development program. The major components of this program entail airside, terminal, landside, utilities, and related airport infrastructure, along with public safety, security, and environmental services. This is a 3-year contract. Parsons’ employees will be seconded, alongside our client’s staff me! mbers. By joining our team, you will be contributing to expand! ing and refreshing the infrastructure a world class airport that accommodated more that 36 million travelers in 2012.
Need
Specifically, Parsons is seeking a Safety Manager to monitor and oversee safety activities associated with the completion of the airport’s upgrades to its central power plant. The selected candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of safety practices used in construction and the power industries. You will interact with various professional disciplines during construction, and must be familiar with methods and techniques to be utilized for installation of power equipment to assure proper safety procedures are in place. You will become familiar with required contractual obligations and technical aspects of all facilities to be erected. In addition to managing the project’s safety program, you will also responsible for safety audits, reports, presentations, and training.
Qualifications
10 + years of safety related experience in field construction, preferably with strong central power plant projects
Comprehensive knowledge of construction and a thorough knowledge of industry safety practices
Proven leadership and management in safety
4 year degree in construction or safety related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience)
Documentation of completing safety training, such as OSHA
