The CLG team includes Home Lending, Consumer Credit Card, Personal Loans and Lines, Direct Auto, Dealer Services, Commercial Auto, Retail Services and Education Financial Services including the professional services teams that partner with these businesses - Human Resources, Finance, ! Credit Risk, and Compliance & Operational Risk.
Our C! onsumer Financial Services (CFS) team supports our direct-to-consumer lending products and includes product management, strategy and innovation, loan operations, inbound/outbound sales, and project and systems management. These products include consumer credit cards, personal lines and loans, direct auto products (new, used, refinance), fee-based products and rewards programs.
The Analytics Consultant will be responsible for identifying business requirements, translating business needs into data needs, and will be the MIS support for the Product team and Senior management of Credit Cards, Lines and Loans, Auto Loans products.
Position will provide expertise in the design of over-arching reporting data infrastructure, explore new data sources, provide consistent business definitions, and translate data into insights about customer profiles, portfolio metrics and overall product performance.
Role will also recommend potential data sources; compiles ! data from complex, multiple, cross business sources within Wells Fargo's various system of records, various data base platforms, data warehouses, and business data marts.
The position involves partnering with other MIS Data and Analytics teams, to ensure the data infrastructure and tools meet the requirements to support complex reporting and analytical projects.
Position may manage a technical team that develops automated reporting using various business intelligence tools.
Specific job functions include:
- Lead or support very complex data integration and reporting across multiple data warehouse and databases.
- Provide solutions and/or recommendations to complex or high risk technical problems.
- Develop executive friendly reporting by managing the full development life cycle from planning, business requirements gathering, data analysis, report design, testing, UAT and implementation.
- Present/communicate ! final results of complex data infrastructure problems to various levels! of management including senior management.
- Create automated reporting utilizing complex external and internal data.
- Complete ad-hoc research requests around account/customer behavior or performance and synthesize results for business.
- Partner with the other MIS Teams to develop / test new data fields; partner with the Product MIS Engineering Team to develop analytical / presentation tools supporting reporting and analytics
- Provide guidance and consulting to less experienced technology analysts and consultants for analytical projects, as well as partner with various technology groups for technology solutions.
- Recommend and implement the development of audits and controls around quality and data integrity on data load processes supporting reporting and analytics.
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements.
- Act as liaison with other Wells Fargo technical partners.
10+ years reporting and analytical experience or a minimum of a Masters degree in programs such as applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics or computer sciences with 5+ years related industry experience. CFA or CPA preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in the financial services industry; preferably within business requirements writing, data infrastructure development, data integration implementation and project management activities.
- The candidate should have deep working experience/expertise of SQL, ETL tools, Portal solutions, Business Intelligence tools, such as Business Objects, Tableau and MS Suite: SSIS Integrations Services, SSAS/Analytical services & SSRS/Reporting Services.
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently an! d lead projects
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to de! velop strong long lasting relationships with the MIS team, business partners and technology partners.
- Demonstrated business analysis skills, strong interpersonal, and ability to effectively interact with mid to senior level management
- Project management skills required with demonstrated experience in managing deliverables, management concepts and practices.
- Graduate degree in business or economics preferred
- Deep knowledge/Experience with Credit Cards, Lines and Loans data and process.
- Deep knowledge/Experience with Wells Fargo data warehouses: EIW, BMG, MDSS, Hemisphere, etc.
- Mastery level with SQL querying tools (Oracle, MS SQL, Teradata)
- Expert knowledge/Experience with Business Intelligence tools particularly MS SQL server s SSIS, SSAS & SSRS.
