Associate Director, Business School Fund

Reporting to the Director of Annual and R! eunion Giving, the Associate Director is responsible for implementing program strategies to encourage increased dollars and participation in giving from alumni through reunion and annual giving programs.

POSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a field position emphasizing personal visits and meaningful interactions with donors, prospects, and volunteers who have the capacity to make unrestricted gifts at the leadership level ($2,500 to $100,000).

In addition to managing a portfolio of prospects/donors to cultivate, solicit and steward for their support, the successful candidate will identify, recruit, and train volunteers for assigned classes and programs. The Associate Director will work closely with Major Gift staff on the solicitation of six-figure leadership gifts and will coordinate plans and activities for class-based outreach with corresponding staff members on the Business School Fund team and in the Stanford Business School Alumn! i Association.

Qualifications

Bachelor's deg! ree or higher required.

Two to three years demonstrated experience and interest in fundraising, preferably in a university environment. Ideally, this would include personal solicitation of large annual gifts ($1,000 to $100,000) and volunteer management and motivation.

Ability to think creatively and strategically. Ability to build teams to elicit ideas and manage expectations.

Strong initiative, organizational ability, and attention to detail; high energy level, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and flexibility absolutely required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other GSB and university staff.

Ability to articulate a compelling case for annual discretionary support. The candidate should also be able to understand and communicate rationale and goals of a class-based giving program in a c! omplex internal and external fundraising environment.

Ability to handle responsibilities in tactful and professional manner. Ability to handle highly confidential material with discretion.

Experience and proficiency with database and PC desktop technologies.

Knowledge of Stanford University and the Graduate School of Business preferred.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel on occasion required.
