Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations,including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.

This position is located within Gas System Planning (GSP). GSP is responsible for providing hydraulic analysis, operational support, and system engineeringof PG&E's backbone, transmission, and distribution systems.

â?¢ GSP's plans drive PG&E's gas system investments, design, and operations to deliver gas to PG&E's customers without operationa! l incidents.

Position Summary
This position reports to the Manager of Gas Backbone Planning in the GSP Department. The Gas Resource Analyst accuratelychooses from and utilizes a variety of mathematical and/or statistical techniques to formulate conclusions or solve practical problems. Utilizes a variety of mathematical and/or statistical techniques in order to solve problems or interpret data. Effectivelyexpresses ideas and information through the spoken word using language that is appropriate to both the complexity of the topic and the knowledge and understanding of the audience. Demonstrates skill in communicating information ! and ideas in writing so others willunderstand and establishes forecast assumptions and leads analysis of long-term forecast and other input data. Develops and maintains work relationships, contacts, and networks; demonstrates skill in achieving cooperation from others in order to achieve a goal.Demonstrates skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. This position in subjected to random DOT drug screening.

This position currenlty resides in SanFrancisco, CA and will relocate to San Ramon, CA in Spring 2013.
Qualifications

Minumum:
Bachelorâ??s degree or equivalent experience

Three years of experience in operations research and/or forecasting, maintainingmodels and performing low-level programming

Desired:
â?¢ Analytical skills, initiative and innovation skills.
â?¢ Ability to conduct and interpret quantitativ! e/qualitative analysis.
â?¢ Ability to build and maintain relatio! nships withco-workers.
â?¢ Proficient in Excel.
â?¢ Knowledgeable in Visual Basic and linear programming analysis and reporting
â?¢ Understanding of option pricing and natural gas derivatives desirable.
â?¢ Bachelorâ??s degree in math, finance, economics,engineering or related field
â?¢ Masterâ??s degree in related discipline Responsibilities
â?¢ Develop moderately complex forecasts and perform/interpret analysis of pipeline & storage demand and capabilities, including prices and risks that impactsales and gas transmission storage operations.
â?¢ Work closely with market-center and transportation product reps to evaluate availability of gas transmission and storage resources. This work will vary depending on market conditions, portfolio mix and level ofcustomer activity.
â?¢ Contribute to incremental revenue initiatives identified in revenue goals and plans. Specifically, provide operations analysis and recommend operating s! trategies to support revenue goals.
â?¢ Support short-term and mid-term forecastingof customer demand by Gas Control by developing and maintaining various forecasting models.
