Primary Responsibilities This position will be responsible for carrying out damage inspections on new cars, trucks and vans at a specific location.

Specific responsibilities

• Verification of transportation and yard damage(s) pertaining to new vehicles shipped by rail.
• Entering damage exceptions into a hand held data computer/scanner processor (DAP) for downloading into the SGS main data system.
• Compiling damage reports with photos of damaged area(s) of individual units with detailed explanations and damage codes from the appropriate parties.
• Perform on-rail inspections of new vehicle recording damage exceptions with photos.
• Record and report various statistical information for the rail carriers.

Reporting to Department Supervisor

Skills

• A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) is required.
• Previous automotive inspection experience is a strong asset.
• Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
• Candidates must be proficient in using various type of computer software (Word, Excel, Digital Imaging software etc.).
• Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
• Ability to work well with others & independently.
