Senior Scientist – Gas Circuit Breaker Research – Baden/Switzerland

We are looking for a senior research scientist with experience in gas circuit breakers or in high-voltage technology, to strengthen our team at our research center in Baden/CH.

Your Responsibilities

• 
  Define, plan, lead and contribute to multidisciplinary industrial research projects on gas circuit breakers, high-voltage engineering, electrical power devices

• Create and research new concepts for high-voltage AC and DC gas circuit breakers and gaseous insulation

• Contribute to shape the long-term R&D strategy of gas circuit breakers and high voltage switchgear

• Collaborate with Hitachi Energy business units and research centers, universities, and external partners

• Build your network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise

• Disseminate your results in technical reports, patent applications, and scientific publications

Your Requirements

• 
  3+ years of industry or postdoc experience in the area of circuit breaker or high-voltage technology

• Project management, people- or technical leadership experience

• PhD in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or applied physics or equivalent experience

• Proven track record in science or in industry

• Excellent leadership and communication skills, team player attitude, initiative and creativity

• Background related to cold/thermal plasma physics and applications, experimental fluid dynamics or combustion physics is an advantage

• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
