MET International AG (METI) was established in 2010 in order to consolidate and develop MET Group’s international natural gas sales and purchase portfolio, as well as to establish a trading arm for commodity lines.
METI is responsible for providing highly competitive supply structures to its gas and power sales affiliates, originating additional positions on the European wholesale and the international LNG markets, as well as trading around international positions. Besides being the business consolidator of the entire MET Group, METI is the sole interface and trading arm towards Western European markets via natural gas and power trading on liquid trading hubs, wholesale origination and logistics services.
- Monitor and manage physical power positions in all relevant markets and validate daily PnL and position changes
- Create and control scheduling processes with service providers around power, GoOs and EUA
- Support processes related to regional cross-border capacity auction participation and power transmission life cycles
- Collaborate with internal departments, including back- and middle office, market analysts and traders
- Support system (position management, scheduling, etc.) implementation, integration, and process development projects
- 1-3 years of experience in a power trading related environment
- Basic understanding of the power market fundamentals
- Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Finance or Economics
- Ability to work precisely under pressure, effective approach to planning, pragmatic and solution orientated, ability to manage unforeseen changes in a focussed manner, investigate/analyze complex problems independently
- Basic programming skills in VBA (SQL is plus)
- Strong communication skills in English (any CEE language is a plus)
