He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Council’s People & Performance team has an opportunity for an Employment Relations Consultant to join the ER Consulting team. Please note, this is a fixed term role to December 2023.
This is a critical role, supporting our kaimahi and people leaders with employment relations advice. You’ll join a team of People Consultants with a wide range of experience and internal IP to draw on as well as an engaging and supportive Team Leader .
You could expect to work on:
- Case management and advice
- Education and guiding people leaders with expert advice
- Managing performance, conflict management, investigations, disciplinary action, restructures and serious health concerns
He kōrero mōu: About you
This role requires 5 years’ or more experience in the employment relations space. Ideally, you will have experience from within large and complex and potentially political organisations as you will need to be able to hit the ground running.
We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:
- Managing complex and high volume ER cases
- Demonstrated capability in the interpretation of NZ legislation and case law
- Proven ability to negotiate effective employment resolutions
- Ability to operate and influence at all levels of an organisation, building great working relationships
