About the Unit / Team / Department
The Operational Services Department plays an important role in providing a 7 day a week service supporting the delivery of a quality and cost-effective health service. A wide range of functions are covered by the team, including cleaning, clinical support, facility maintenance coordination, food services, grounds maintenance, garden services, home care services, removal of waste, linen services, transport of patients, equipment and materials around the hospital, stores, transport and ward services. This position will also be required to work with, and provide support and advice to Team Leader, Supervisors and/or Manager of Operational Services.
Your opportunity
Operational Officers - Wardsperson/Patient Handling
This position will be responsible for providing support services for a patient centred health care environment including patient handling, cleaning, removal of waste, removal and delivery of linen, transportation of patients, equipment and materials around the hospital, receiving and discharging bodies from the morgue, stores and facility maintenance. This position will also be required to work with, and provide support and advice to the Operational Supervisor, Clinical/Ward Team Leader and/or Business Manager.
Operational Officers - Mixed Skill
This position will be responsible for providing support services for a patient centred health care environment including cleaning, linen services, food services assistant, removal of waste, transportation of patients, equipment and materials around the hospital. This position will require the ability to achieve the required quality and safety standards that are set within the department initiative and sound judgement, exercise a degree of autonomy and to work with and provide support for supervisor operational service. This position is on a 14 day rotating roster with various day shifts including weekends.
