Accounting Specialist [Sweden]

Purpose of the role:
Responsible for daily operational Accounting activities of LeasePlan Sweden and supporting any stakeholders in a pro-active way. In addition support implementation of process improvements and participate in projects.
Working closely with the business controlling team and the AR/AP team.
Background of the company:
LeasePlan Sweden provides fleet management services to its clients. This can be related to financing of the cars, as well as a full service package whereby the clients are charged a standard monthly fee for repair, maintenance, tyres, etc. based upon the agreed contract duration for a car, as well as the mileage. Next to that LeasePlan remarkets vehicles at the end of the contract via Car Remarketing and B2C sales in the Retail store in Upplands Väsby.
Background of the role:
The finance department is responsible for the following areas: Treasury, Accounting, Reporting, Financial control, AR/AP and Tax. This includes statutory reporting and group reporting to the Corporate Headquarters in Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
If you are interested in the job, you will be joining LeasePlan at a very exciting stage. The company has implemented a new suite of financial systems (SAP S4 HANA and other applications) to modernize the finance function to deliver on the digital strategy of LeasePlan. LP Sweden is the pilot country for the LeasePlan Group. This means as a sr Accounting Analyst you will have the chance to work with a new SAP system and share the knowledge and experience across LeasePlan. The digital strategy and the strong focus on process improvement via LEAN methodology provides opportunities to improve the company’s processes.
The sr Accounting Analyst position is responsible for performing the Monthly closing process according to IFRS requirements, as well as supporting the Financial control, Treasury and Tax processes. A broad role with responsibility in a dynamic environment. The sr Accounting Analyst reports to the Accounting manager and works closely with the other functions of the finance department (Business control – AR / AP).

Main duties & responsibilities:
  • Treasury: perform daily liquidity forecasting and prepare monthly funding requirements towards Corp Treasury / External banks
  • Prepare and submit Tax filings (payroll tax, VAT, income tax)
  • Adhere to monthly Group Reporting (IFRS) requirements and yearly local statutory reporting requirements (SE GAAP / K3 / SCB) as well as maintaining internal and external auditors contact
  • Financial Control: maintain Finance control framework
  • Manage monthly Intercompany process, assuring alignment with other LeasePlan entities
  • Responsible for keeping all Accounting policies & procedures up to date
  • Directly liaise with AR / AP and Business Control teams
  • Cost Control: perform monthly OPEX monitoring and report towards Finance Director
Knowledge/Skills:
  • 5+ years of Accounting experience => experience with lease accounting is highly desirable (or experience in the Banking, Insurance industry)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and accurate
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive & communicative mindset for building confidence and relationships towards internal stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver within short / tight deadlines and high accuracy
  • Ability to think creatively, be pro-active and self-motivated
  • Tax knowledge (VAT and CIT)
  • K3 (Swedish GAAP) and IFRS knowledge
  • Languages: written and oral in both Swedish and English
  • Team player
  • Extensive experience with Monthly closing procedures under tight deadlines
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with SAP (S4 HANA) and related BPC consolidation tooling
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • University Education specialized in Accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting positions
Desirable:
  • Finance qualification (CPA or equivalent)
  • Experience from big four auditing firms
  • Track record of step change process improvements
