Job Title: Facility Development Coordinator

Location: FAI HQ Abbotstown and Hybrid Working

Direct Reporting Line To: Head of Grant Funding and Infrastructure Development

Duration: Permanent, full time

The Department:

The Facilities & Infrastructure Development Department supports the development of quality football facilities locally, regionally, and nationally based on the FAI strategic plan 2022-2025 of core deliverables (Transforming football facilities and infrastructure pillar).

Principle Purpose and Duties:

Working within Facilities & Infrastructure Development Department and reporting direct to the Head of Grant Funding & Infrastructure Development. The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the development pathway of quality facilities and infrastructure nationally for all our stakeholders from a technical standard and funding streams point of view. Also, to further support the ongoing development of the FAI National Headquarters and National Training Centre.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Head of Grant Funding & Infrastructure Development and the wider Facility Development Department in the continuous development and delivery of the Associations Strategy Plan 2022 -2025 in relation to facility development and facility management, at all levels, from Grassroots Clubs to the Aviva Stadium.
  • Support the Head of Grant Funding & Infrastructure Development and wider Strategy team with the Facility Investment Strategy for facility development nationwide.
  • Create a delivery plan for all League of Ireland clubs to follow and submit funding requests to the Large scale sport infrastructure fund (LSSIF), Sports Capital & Equipment Programme (SCEP).
  • Support the Head of Grant Funding & Infrastructure Development with delivery of educational support for all grassroots clubs nationwide regarding any active funding/grant streams to help facility development (Sports Capital & Equipment Programme SCEP, Goalpost Upgrade Scheme, etc.)
  • Support the Head of Grant Funding & Infrastructure Development to coordinate the data return of the recently completed nationwide facility audit (grassroots football to League of Ireland clubs).
  • Co-ordinate the Association’s educational process around infrastructure development by hosting numerous presentations for all of football – grassroots Clubs, Leagues and LOI Clubs.
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of updating all FAI guidelines on facility development documentation showing a clear link with the UEFA, FIFA for same.FAI stadium Infrastructure Guidelines

Clubhouse development.
Artificial turf guidelines.
Natural turf guidelines.
Floodlighting upgrade guidelines.

  • Coordinate and support the Head of Grant Funding & Infrastructure Development with the implementation and delivery of natural turf and artificial turf training courses for all relevant LOI and Grassroot ground care workers - both nationally and regionally.
  • Support the Head of Grant Funding & Infrastructure Development with the operational and development responsibilities of all owned, invested FAI facility assets and the relevant contract/monitoring obligations.
  • Support the match operations unit with all Aviva Stadium matchday duties as outlined by the Head of Grant Funding & Infrastructure Development.
  • Any other duties as set out and agreed with by the Head of Grant Funding & Infrastructure Development.
  • Support the wider Facilities & Infrastructure Department for all Football Social Responsibly (FSR) duties related to Infrastructure.

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate will have the following:

Qualifications

  • Third Level Degree preferred in Construction, Engineering, or related industry.
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience, desirable.

Experience

  • At least 3 years’ working in a similar facility development and/or Project management background. Specific to sporting facilities.
  • Experience in project management and delivery of KPIs.
  • An understanding of the Sports Capital & Equipment Programme grants process and various other funding streams.
  • A solid knowledge and passion for Irish football / Sports Industry from a facility development point of view.
  • History of pitching fresh, creative approaches to projects and problem solving.
  • Competency with IT systems / Microsoft office suite, essential intermediate to advanced level.
  • Demonstrate flexibility within the working week around a football environment (evenings and weekends).
