The Bach Café is looking for 3 full-time chef’s assistants to join our progressive restaurant. We require a positive and ambitious person who handles responsibility with ease whilst remaining focused and in control in a fast-paced environment.

Job Title: Chef’s Assistant
Location: Wellington.
Employment Type: Full-time
Days required: Tuesday to Sunday on shift.
Hours per week: 40 hours to 50 hours a week.
Number of Vacancies: 3 positions
Payment: $28.18- $29.66 per hour
Key tasks & responsibilities:
- Ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest specifications.
- Ensuring all recipes and preparation requirements are met.
- Ensuring temperatures, seasonings and flavors are to specification.
- Ensuring all foods are presented and served in a timely manner and in the correct sequence.
- Ensuring the storage of foods and others meet necessary Health and Safety requirements.
- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.
- Updating and developing new cooking techniques and procedures in accordance with the new menu.
- General kitchen cleaning and hygiene duties.
To be right for this role and our organization, you need:
- No prior experience or qualification are required, but it would be an advantage if you have experience in this industry.
- On-the-job training will be provided if you are the right one.
- Adaptable to change and able to multitask.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Be reliable and responsible.
- Good time management.
