Summary
Incumbent serves as a Full Performance Level Flight Data Communications Specialist (FDCS) in a level 12 enroute facility. The incumbent provides flight data processing and communication services for the air traffic control system, and operates and maintains a variety of air traffic operational computer systems. Collects and distributes flight plans, flow control restrictions, NOTAMS, and a variety of other data related to flight safety. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
The incumbent serves as a Full Performance Level Flight Data Communications Specialist (FDCS) in an level 12 en route facility. The incumbent is responsible for processing data concerning air traffic movement and other duties requiring knowledge of and skill in applying air traffic control procedures. The incumbent is engaged in flight data processing and the operation of telecommunications systems serving the ARTCC. Primary functions of the position include monitoring and generating computer entries, analyzing, and operating automated communications systems, and assisting and providing support to users of the National Airspace System (NAS)

Qualifications
Specialized Experience: To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-E or FG/GS-5 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Work experience may include, but not limited to: 1) Civilian or military aircraft operations work, such as flight instructor, instrument rated pilot, flight engineer, or air transport pilot. 2) FAA certified dispatcher for an air carrier. 3) Flight information expediter involved in determining flight operations and command centers. 4) Civilian or military air traffic controller. 5) Flight data processor. Other qualifying experience may have been gained in successful completion of an FAA or military air traffic control training program or possession of an FAA Control Tower Operations certificate.
