Job Description

The LITTLE SAIGON FOUNDATION OF SAN DIEGO is looking for one high-caliber Vietnamese individual with strong organizational leadership experience to coordinate several community service and outreach projects for the Fall/Winter of 2013.

Position: Community Organizer
Term: October â€" March, 2014 (projects may extend beyond this term)
Pay: $3,500 to $5,000 depending on experience

Qualifications

• *Fluent in in English/Vietnamese: Read/Write/Speak (*please do not apply if you do not ha! ve this language requirement. Thank you)
• Leadership E! xperience in Community or Student Organizations.
• Able to recruit, manage volunteers
• Great writing and verbal communication skills
• Team Player
• Outgoing, adventurous, willing to dive into new experiences
• Goal-oriented and result-driven
• Access to reliable transportation
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends
• Public speaking Experience.

Ideal candidate should have background in social sciences, social justice, political-sciences, ethnic studies, etc.

Duties

Duties includes but are not limited to:

• Coordinate a Community Survey to address the needs of the Vietnamese community with emphasis on Mid-city residents, Businesses, Youths

o Face to face interaction with survey participants

• Recruit and Manage volunteers
• Outreach and recruit community members to meetings
• Coordinate and facilitate Community Meetings
Present at community meetings
