This position will coordinate all direct sales activities relative to those accounts and prospective accounts that support the following strategy.Leverage Sonoco’s integrated packaging and service capabilities to deliver “end-to-end” supply chain innovation that helps our customer-partners “win” their go-to-market challenges on a regional, national and global basis.

Other responsibilities related to GROWTH include:
Maintaining existing customer relationships and uncovering value based selling opportunities that increase Sonoco’s value to the customer.

Analyzing and qualifying prospective accounts

Conducting initial ! contact and subsequent sales calls to accounts, selling and es! tablishing relationships necessary to produce first time and repeat business

Developing an intimate knowledge of the target markets entire packaging supply chain and making recommendations on product and service offerings

Surpassing sales quota commitments for area of responsibility

Responsibilities related to TERRITORY MANAGEMENT include:
Implementing sales strategies

Creating and maintaining customer and prospective relationships

Managing and closing new sales

Pricing and value proposal creation

Managing working capital and improving cash flow

Working closely with plant management and plant schedulers

Traveling as necessary to cover territory and fulfill any other responsibilities

Keeping current on the competitive activity in the area

Identifying and understanding strengths and weaknesses of competitors of Sonoco

Keeping current on all Sonoco Display and! Packaging and Sonoco Corporate credentials, products, and services to provide customers with value across our product and service portfolio

Managing the documentation and communication of feedback for customer base

Required Skills

A bachelor’s degree is required

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) also required.

Required Experience

Candidates must have proven success of meeting and exceeding goals and quotas.

5-10 years experience of selling primary and secondary packaging
