The San Francisco Chronicle is hiring an ambitious reporter who isn’t happy unless he or she is on the front page of both the website and the paper. Someone who thinks “web first†and then “authoritative analysis.â€
The position is based in Sacramento, covering statewide politics and government. Occasionally, the job may include travel for breaking news or enterprise stories focusing on Northern California.
This is a senior-level reporting position. It is expected that applicants will have a track record of investigations and major enterprise. The right candidate will also be able to spot a trend story, get scoops and use social media. More than that, he or she will also have skills such as the ability to speak another language, database-reporting skills and/or a kick-ass Sacramento source list.
