Community Work Incentives Coordinator (CWIC) WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT DIVISION Non Exempt Summary of Po! sition Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Community Work Incentives Coordinator (CWIC) provides accurate work incentives planning and assistance to SSDI and SSI beneficiaries; collaborates with SSA personnel and provides outreach activities that promote effective use of available work incentives to encourage successful employment outcomes. This position requires extensive travel throughout multiple northern California counties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work Incentives Planning and Assistance 1. Provide accurate information about SSDI and SSI work incentives including Ticket to Work initiative. 2. Develop accurate and personalized benefits analysis plans demonstrating appropriate work incentives and application of work incentive strategies that promotes employment opportunities. 3. Provide ongoing, comprehensive work incentives monitoring and management assistance to SSDI and SSI beneficiaries. 4. Maintain ongoing close contact with the Social ! Security Administration personnel including PASS Cadres and Ar! ea Work Incentive Coordinators (AWICs). 5. Provide outreach activities to beneficiaries, family members, community partners and providers. 6. Conduct group presentations regarding Social Security work incentives, job readiness and other employment related topics. 7. Develop work plans that promote employment, utilization of appropriate work incentives and provide linkages to employment provide linkages to employment programs and services. Documentation 1. Maintain and track client records and status regarding the number of clients served according to Crossroad's internal policies and procedures and enter Efforts to Outcome information into the Social Security Administration database. 2. Submit monthly status reports to Program Manager to include clients served, efforts and outreach activities with a status toward objectives. 3. Keep rosters of outreach activities, group presentations and workshops. 4. Update work plans and benefits summary and analysis, conduct regular revi! ews of client outcomes and modify plans as needed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1. Ability to read, understand and apply complex federal and state regulations applicable to Social Security Disability, SSI, Medicare and Medical. 2. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to include percentages, decimals and fractions as it relates to benefits calculation. 3. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written expression. 4. Ability to travel to multiple California counties. 5. Ability to maintain confidential documentation in a secure manner and report information accordingly in a concise and timely manner. 6. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally as a member of a team with our community partners. 7. Knowledge of basic computer programs; Word, Excel and the ability to do Internet research. Typing speed of 40 wpm. 8. Knowledge of community resources and ability to utilize these resources effectively. REQUIREMENTS1. Possession of a valid driver'! s license and vehicle insurance adequate to the demands of the agency's! carrier.2. Verification of eligibility to work in the United States as outlined under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.3. Upon offer of employment, successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE 1. College degree preferred or work experience providing work incentives planning and assistance. 2. Previously demonstrated experience working in the field of employment services, working with persons with significant barriers or working with persons from diverse backgrounds preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing this job, the CWIC is required to sit often and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and to manipulate the keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and to stoop, kneel or squat. The CWIC will need to drive frequently and lift approximately 20 pounds while transferring work equipment; laptop, files to and from car and wo! rk location. The employee is required to frequently view a computer screen. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate. The physical demands are representative of the physical requirements for an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of the CWIC position.
