Member Relations & Board Services Manager

Engine Advocacy is a coalition of 300+ technology startups from across the United States focused on connecting startups and policymakers to ensure that government gives entrepreneurs the best change to spur economic growth. Engine educates policymakers with research and analysis as well as meetings with startup founders and investors. At the same time, Engine works with the entrepreneurial community to engage with policymakers on specific issues that affect their businesses.

Engine is looking for an outstanding individual to become our first Member Relations & Board Services Manager. Engine has rapidly grown as an organization, and we need to make sure our startup members remain informed on the issues that affect them. As the first person in this role, you will have a tremendous amount of latitude to help define both what you do and how the organization grows.

Anticipated responsibilities include:

• Work with our policy team to ensure members are regularly informed on legislative developments
• Organize meetings between our members and the policymakers who frequently come to visit them
• Understand what policy challenges individual members face and organizing them for the policy team
• Build the membership base
• Mobilize Engine members as needed to help engage on issues of concern
• Assist our programming team with member-related coordination (Startup Day on the Hill, etc.)
• Keep our governing committee informed of developments and progress
• Coordinate the committee’s regular convenings

Requirements:

• Four-year degree
• Interest in or experience with technology startups
• Exposure to the policy and/or non-profit space
