Senior CloudOps Architect - Job Description:
As the Senior CloudOps Architect, your primary responsibility will be to design and implement cloud operations strategies, with a focus on Kubernetes and a strong background in CI/CD. You will support Scrum Development teams as a CI/CD architect, developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes applications while adhering to GitOps practices. In collaboration with the Team Lead and Cloud Architect, you will ensure seamless integration of CI/CD processes into the overall multi-cloud architecture. Your role will involve managing Kubernetes clusters using Helm and Helm Charts and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of applications and infrastructure in a multi-cloud environment. Preparing for eventual ISO/SOC2 certifications will also be a crucial part of your responsibilities. To succeed in this role, you should have experience with multi-cloud environments, containerization, microservices, service mesh, and familiarity with ISO/SOC2 certification requirements for cloud operations and security.
As a Senior CloudOps Architect, you will contribute to a system supporting 5-6 devices under management, utilizing a combination of HTTP/2, MQTTv5, and XMPP transport protocols in the cloud. Our primary user interface is through a mobile application, developed using Flutter. Your expertise will help ensure the smooth integration of cloud operations with these devices and the mobile application, ultimately enhancing the overall user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Support Scrum Development teams as a CI/CD architect by designing and implementing cloud operations strategies, focusing on Kubernetes and a strong background in CI/CD
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes applications, adhering to GitOps practices
- Deploy applications on Kubernetes and manage Kubernetes clusters using Helm and Helm Charts
- Collaborate with the Team Lead and Cloud Architect and other team members to ensure seamless integration of CI/CD processes into the overall multi-cloud architecture
- Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of applications and infrastructure in a multi-cloud environment, with a focus on preparing for eventual ISO/SOC2 certifications
- Continuously improve deployment strategies, monitoring, and testing to support our goal of 100% up-time
- Research new technologies and present complex findings with recommendations for integration into the team's technical strategy
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Participate in design review meetings and provide feedback on CI/CD best practices
Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience required
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps or cloud operations
- 3+ years of experience in Kubernetes and CI/CD architecture and design
- Expertise in Terraform, Helm, and Helm Charts
- Experience deploying applications using Helm and managing Kubernetes clusters
- Familiarity with GitOps practices and setting up CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes applications
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, and Tekton is a plus
- Solid understanding of containerization, microservices, and service mesh
- Experience with multi-cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, Azure, and Alibaba Cloud
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience supporting Scrum Development teams and working in an Agile development environment
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and principles
- Willingness to learn ISO/SOC2 certification requirements and best practices for cloud operations and security
