The role of the PMO Consultant
Based at one of our offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Hamburg, or London, you will play a key role in leading PMO activities for our client’s energy infrastructure projects. As our new PMO consultant, you will be responsible for facilitating best-practice project management disciplines in Power-to-X projects, starting in the early development phase. This includes defining, implementing, and maintaining PMO guidelines and practices, that are required to successfully develop and materialize projects on behalf of our clients. In your role as a consultant, you can expect to lead commercial PMO activities located both centrally and decentral in clients’ projects as well as across a pipeline of infrastructure projects. Beyond client engagements, you will play a vital part in building our commercial PMO practices in PEAX Energy and ensuring that PEAX Energy builds a center of excellence for commercial PMO services.
What are we Looking for?
As a PMO Consultant, we expect you to be responsible for the day-to-day dialogue with our client's project team and their senior management. We would like to see that you have good business acumen, are organised, and encompass a strong commercial toolbox. It would be good if you have experience in cost management, risk and planning baselining, change control, and project reporting, paired with a profound commercial understanding that is applied across all PMO disciplines.
We expect that you have top-tier communication skills both verbally and in writing (experienced in PowerPoint and Word) and are comfortable with senior management communication and dialogue. As a Consultant, you also need to have an analytical mindset and possess the ability to turn complex issues into simple and easily comprehensible messages, that help your clients in their decision-making process. Furthermore, a university bachelor’s degree is required (with a master’s degree being preferred), and it would be viewed favorably if you have at least 3-10 years of experience in a similar role as a PMO Consultant, having worked with large-scale infrastructure projects, or business development in the energy industry.
Whilst some knowledge of the energy assets is desirable, we also welcome applications from ambitious candidates, who have gained relevant skills in other sectors and are motivated to join the energy industry. As PEAX Energy and our clients work globally, it is important that you have an international mindset and are fluent in English. To succeed in this role, you will also need to be able to work independently with a proactive mindset and have an ability for building long-term strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
