Onboarding - Associate [Luxembourg]

Within the framework of the Luxembourg based activities, Waystone is looking for a Associate - Onboarding to join the company’s Onboarding Team.


The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Onboarding team and senior management across the business supporting fund launches and clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Act as Onboarding Project support for onboarding of new UCITS Management Company and AIFM clients and their funds in Ireland, UK or Luxembourg. May also be required to assist with MIFID services, SPVs and other services of Waystone.
  • Provide support to the Onboarding and Relationship Management (“OB/RM”) teams in the relationship with investment managers and other service providers for European domiciled funds of the management company to ensure client satisfaction is maintained and that regulatory obligations are met.
  • Assist with the review of fund documents and agreements, including prospectus and legal agreements, which are prepared by service providers and legal during the onboarding process. Liaise with attorneys, investment managers, administrators and brokers and other financial service providers around the world as the assistant contact in the onboarding of clients.
  • Work as the project manager on the project plan to evidence completion of launch tasks and coordinate regular calls or meetings with key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of a fund launch project.
  • Assist with business decisions in addition to informing team members of alternatives to a proposed business decision prior to the execution of such decision.
  • Be familiar with European regulatory issues including, but not limited to, UCITS, AIFMD and MIFID and keep abreast of other relevant regulatory changes. Attend training sessions where required to expand knowledge in these areas.
  • Coordinate teamwork between the internal existing teams to promote prompt and thorough response to clients’ requests.
  • Assist with the management of client relationships and ongoing governance of funds dealing with internal Conducting Officers and supporting teams, and be lead support contact person with Fund Boards, Investment Managers and across the different service providers, principally the Fund Administrator, Depositary, Auditors and Legal Advisors.
  • Attend, when available, training sessions on relevant topics
  • Communicate all relationship and governance items to OB/RM representatives, and internal teams and work towards resolutions & log for training purposes to avoid duplication of issues

EDUCATION:

  • Project, Relationship management or business analyst experience / qualification
  • Securities & Fund Services experience
  • Knowledge of the Irish, Luxembourg and European regulatory landscape and a clear ability to interpret and understand the implications of new regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team player
