Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. seeks a Manager, Participations for the FCRA Features Participations department. The Manager, Participatio! ns is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a statement preparation, review and analysis group within the Participations Department.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that WB’s contractual reporting obligations are met accurately and timely as well as team management. This includes: understanding and applying accounting provisions of legal agreements, scheduling the workflow so that reporting deadlines are met, verifying accuracy of statements and approving requests for payments due; and performing special projects and ad hoc analyses.
Possesses and continuously develops expertise including knowledge/use of the financial side of the entertainment industry, and WB business practices and participation specific knowledge with core technical systems and applications.
Hires, supervises, empowers and evaluates staff; researches and responds to queries from participants and others across the organization; maintains strong working re! lationships with all levels of the organization. Positively im! pacts department morale and takes ownership of all aspects of team functions. Continually trains staff on technical and conceptual aspects of their roles.
Works with peers on team development tasks and identifies changes/improvements needed and takes a leadership role in their implementation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
BA/BS Degree or equivalent years experience required.
CPA or MBA preferred.
Minimum five years previous participations, accounting, audit or financial related experience required.
Prior experience in participations environment preferred.
Previous entertainment industry working experience preferred.
Must have strong competency in working with multiple systems, applications and SAP; must be willing to learn new IT applications.
Excellent analytical skills required.
Very strong planning, organizational, time management and leadership skills required.
Excellent verbal and wri! tten communications required; must be an effective presenter.
Very strong proficiency in Excel, Outlook and Word required.
Very strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and algebra required.
Strong overall understanding of Participations, including ability to read and understand digests and abstracts of legal agreements required.
Must be very flexible and able to adapt and lead in a team environment that is changing rapidly.
Strong ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel and management within and outside the division.
Must be able to meet tight deadlines under a fast-paced environment and work overtime, as needed.
Must be a confident individual who is a quick learner and self-starter.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be very detail oriented.
Must be a team player.
