PROJECT DESCRIPTION & OUTCOMES

Handle a variety of special projects related to Training and Development:

  • Assist Training/HR Analyst to create a new Intern/Supervisor Training Program
  • Assist Training Analyst to create a new Performance Management Resou! rce Library
  • Coordinate trainings & special events which include room reservation, contacting instructors, equipment set up, roster & handout preparation, etc.
  • Design and contribute to Training Catalog
  • Learn new software to update internal webpage and input data for online registration system
  • Occasionally facilitate training introductions
  • Research specific topics on the internet and present findings at team meetings; research will be used by team for training
DESIRED SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS

EDUCATION

Current enrollment in an accredited college or university in undergraduate or graduate program is required. Preference is for a student in government, environmental services, marketing, communication or web design.

  • Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Graphic design ability or just general design-sense is highly desired (for flyers, etc.)
  • Excellent writing skills for flyers, handouts, emails
  • Depend! able, able to commit to a regular, weekly work schedule to be determined with supervisor
  • Honest, hard-working, pleasant to work with; able to work on a team
  • Can demonstrate initiative and knows how to figure out the next step in a project; shows ability to follow-through and complete tasks/projects
  • Knows how to ask for help, ask clarifying questions in order to accomplish the job
  • Willing to try new things and learn new skills.
  • Willing to grow in the area of communication skills- which includes conflict resolution
Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS for Student Intern: Any combination equivalent to completion of high school and current enrollment in an accredited college or university in undergraduate or graduate program.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS for Graduate Student Intern: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of a Bachelor's Degree and current enrollme! nt in a Masters degree program from an accredited college or university in business or public administration or closely related field.
