BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair is currently hiring a Leadperson to support the Sheetmetal Department.Deal with employee relations, motivation, recognition and discipline. Assume Foreman responsibilities in his or h! er absence if necessary. Comply with SWM affirmative Action Policy. Ensure all work areas are maintained and are clean and safe. Ensure safety policies and work practices are followed. Ensure that appropriate safety equipment is in place and is utilized. Conduct safety meeting and attend all required meetings. Accomplish written and physical turnovers. Ensure time sheets are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Ensure personel have the proper company equipment and personal tools to perform their jobs Required Skills:
Must have at least 5 years of trade experience and 2 years of supervision experience. Must know how to read blue prints, generate IDR's and submit pre-fabrication request. Must have excellent organizational skills and great communications skills. Leadmen will also be responsible for direct on-site supervision of crew members and provide on the job training for all personnel. Must have some basic welding knowledge.
