Department Overview
The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission
operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response. Position Summary
The Distribution Supervisor supervises electric craft employees, and leads to foster a
culture of employee engagement. Responsibilities include communicating clear expectations, monitoring performance using performance management techniques, observing and coaching employees i! n the field about safe work practices and compliance to standa! rds, ensuring
that training, development and required certifications are current , taking disciplinary action as needed, and administering the appropriate labor contract. This Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of employees performing skilled craft work while
overseeing the installation and repair of overhead and underground distribution facilities and ensuring electric distribution facilities are installed and maintained in a manner that provides safety, reliable service to customers, as well as, is in compliance with
all applicable internal and external rules and regulations. This position requires travel with short notice to manage projects throughout the service territory and the successful candidate may be in a temporary work location for as long as needed. This role
typically supervises up to 35 (T200) employees within a designated area within a Division and or Region and may be required to travel out of area to respond to system needs or! emergencies. Qualifications
Minimum
- 5 years relevant experience in
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain one prior to hired start date
- Previous leadership experience, e.g. as a crew foreman.
- 3 years’
- Good leadership ability. Understands how to motivate, develop and direct teams as they work.
- Ability to perform effectively under deadlines and in emergency situations.
- Team collaboration skills
- Knowledge of overhead and/or underground electric distribution equipment.
- Knowledge of transmission substations.

- De! velops and/or executes action plans to address deficiencies in process or employee skill/knowledge and track the progress of those
- Completes and maintains all work documentation or reporting. Effectively utilizes resources by monitoring crew productivity.
- Identifies and pursues productivity improvements and implements work practices to reduce operating costs while
- Identifies and reacts to complex field decisions, utilizing technical knowledge and experience to move forward quickly, considering cost, risk, safety, quality and customer impact. May make certain changes to the
- Ensures that customers' needs and expectations are met. Provides clear, professional, proactive communication with customers
- Facilitates or leads weekly team meetings/tailboards. Conducts training as needed.
- Regularly visits work sites to monitor progress.
- Efficiently and accurately performs monitoring and analysis functions for ongoing projects and work efforts. Reviews current work practices for operational efficiencies and deficiencies and provides feedback. Follows up, and recommends improvement to
- Develops and maintains work relationships, regional contacts and internal networks. Interacts with local government, being able to foster business relationships for permit acquisition.
