Under the direction of the RNPH Director of Quality Management, the Administrative Nurse II acts as the Patient Relations Specialist for the Re! snick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, including hearing and managing patient complaints, mediation and resolution of those complaints, tracking issues and outcomes (FM PRO) and frequent communication with clinical administrative leadership. In addition, the AN II assists in the implementation of the hospital-wide Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Program by maintaining quality improvement data bases. The AN II analyzes data to identify patterns and opportunities for improvement and reports findings to hospital leadership through various hospital committees. The AN II assists with preparation for, and participation in regulatory site visits including the Joint Commission, CMS, CDPH, LPS, and Patients' Rights. The AN II must be able to function in a collegial and collaborative relationship with members of the interdisciplinary team and multiple hospital departments.
Job Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and current RN license for the state o! f California. Skill in communicating and conducting self appro! priately and professionally. In-depth knowledge and skill related to the specialty area, patient care requirements, etc. Ability to work within the guidelines established by the organizational structure. Ability to work effectively and efficiently orient/cross-train nursing staff. Working/reference knowledge of Medical Center and Department policies, procedures and standards. Skill in accurately assessing and communicating special patient care and operational needs. Skill in assessing and constructively communicating staff development needs. Ability to document staff performance and maintain confidential records. Knowledge of age-specific physiological and psychological needs of specific patient populations. Previous managerial experience preferred. Must pass a post offer physical. Minimum of 2 years of experience. Demonstrated excellent writing skills, using correct English grammar, spelling, syntax and in accordance with established formats. Knowledge of and ability to us! e Microsoft Word and Outlook. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality in a highly risk sensitive setting. Demonstrated ability to prioritize fluctuating workload.
Baccalaureate or Masters degree in Nursing, required
