Reporting to both the Vice President of Information Technology Business Unit and the Vice President of Operations for the Institution, the IT Support Lead is a member! of the technology team for Laureate Online Education Division. This individual is responsible for IT Operations/Support at Laureate’s National Hispanic University campus. The IT Support Lead will guide the development and implementation of initiatives to improve service quality and cost effectiveness in a rapidly changing and competitive marketplace.
Additionally, the IT Support Lead provides technical support to the employees, students and authorized users of Laureate Education Inc. and NHU computer networks, related software, and associated peripherals. This position is located at National Hispanic University in San Jose, California.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include:
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and requirements.

Participate in meetings where business processes, business requirements, operational requirements! , performance objectives and development objectives are define! d.
Perform routine tasks as they concern the overall operation of the helpdesk and support of employees and authorized users of the network and resources.
Analyze campus needs and communicate a business support plan to Vice President - Business Unit - IT.
Review all open tickets for update and resolution on a daily basis
Communicate status of all active projects; assist with quantifying the cost and value of business application technology products
Recruit, employ, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
Provide guidance to the business and project team with respect to feasibility, complexity, and high level of effort required to deliver solutions.
Assist project management and program management personnel in incorporating development project plan into overall project plan.
Coordinate the management and implementation of any IT Infrastructure related modifications within the institution.
Maintain professional contacts with other universities, research bodies, equipment manufacturers, and professional organizations concerning computer applications and best practices.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to test requirements; work with client to identify required changes; communicate needed changes to development team.
Assist the training team in documenting manuals, support documents, and training materials
Document, execute, and resolve the customer's issues based upon current service response and resolution times. (Service Level Agreements)
Maintain authorized application user access accounts for the institution
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related business/technology field.
A minimum of 5 to 10 years of related technology Comprehensive understanding of network architecture and the solutions needed to! employ successful technology support.
Experience with Telecom! munications systems and their support.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required, including Visio for preparing network diagrams and documentation.
Strong knowledge of Windows Operating Systems required
Understanding of business process modeling. Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Strong leadership and problem solving skills.
Individual must be collaborative and possess the ability to mentor junior team members.
